1st August is Yorkshire Day and this year, like many organisations across the county, we’ll be showing how proud we are to be a Yorkshire solicitors firm by putting on a tea party!
As three times winner of the Yorkshire Law Firm of the Year award we’re delighted to be able to celebrate Yorkshire Day and show our support to some fantastic local causes.
We’re hosting tea parties on 1st August from 11am – 1pm at 7 of our Yorkshire offices: Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Pontefract, and Halifax (the Halifax tea party is taking place at the slightly later time of 12pm – 2pm). The teams will be baking cakes and brewing up to raise money for charity and inviting local people and business to come along, enjoy a treat and make a donation.
Sarah Cookson, Partner and Head of Conveyancing, is organising a tea party at our Dewsbury branch. The team are raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, a charity that funds cancer-related research at facilities in Yorkshire.
Our teams at Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Pontefract and Bradford will be raising money for the Forget Me Not children’s hospice. Forget Me Not is a charity that provides care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
And finally, the team at Leeds will be raising money for Martin House children’s hospice.
Each of these local charities are really important to our staff members. In October several of our partners will be running the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Forget Me Not children’s hospice has also been the regular focus of fundraising activities at our Halifax and Huddersfield branches. The Clinical Negligence team in Huddersfield has pledged to take part in the Hundreds to Thousands challenge, where corporate teams compete to turn £500 into £5000 in an apprentice style competition.
This August everyone at Switalskis will be involved in one big event, with Switalskis team members from right across Yorkshire sipping tea and nibbling cakes together to raise funds for these fantastic causes.
So, join us on 1st August from 11am to help us raise money for charity and celebrate this wonderful county!
