Child Abuse Law team win at Yorkshire Legal Awards

Yorkshire Legal Awards 2014We are delighted to announce that the Child Abuse Law team at Switalskis Solicitors has won the Dispute Resolution award in the Yorkshire Legal Awards 2014.

On Thursday 16th October the Yorkshire Legal Awards were announced at the Royal Armouries New Dock Hall in Leeds. Two of Switalskis specialist legal teams were up for awards: the Residential Conveyancing department was shortlisted for the Residential Property award and the Child Abuse Claims team was shortlisted in the Dispute Resolution category.

The Child Abuse Law team succeeded in their category, coming top of a strong list of dispute resolution lawyers. This win is a testament to the groundbreaking nature of their work seeking justice on behalf of some of the most vulnerable members of society. It also underlines the fact that Yorkshire is home to a national team of specialist lawyers working at the very forefront of an important and evolving area of law.

Launched in 2000, the Yorkshire Legal Awards recognises the best of the region’s legal talent, shining the spotlight on the most dedicated and innovative legal professionals Yorkshire has to offer.

Switalskis has been recognised at the awards several times before – winning Firm of the Year titles in 2006, 2008 and 2012. Our Managing Partner, John Durkan, was also a highly commended finalist in 2013.

The Child Abuse Law team has also recently been shortlisted in three categories in the Personal Injury Awards 2014: Outstanding Case of the Year, Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year, and Claimant Personal Injury Team of the Year, a title which they are defending after winning the award in 2013. The awards ceremony will be held on 12th November 2014 in London.

All at Switalskis would like to congratulate the team on their success and wish them the very best of luck in the Personal Injury Awards!
